GENERAL

2009 WBR Qualifications may begin on January 1, 2009

2 Point Bonus to all shooters for each round fired at Fort Shenandoah administered by Deputy Commander or his appointed representative.  Please contact the Deputy Commander by email or phone and he will appoint the Qualification Officer of the Day, as well as notify as many of the members as possible by email of the date and time at which Qualifications will be held. Qualifications fired at Ft. Shenandoah without notifying the Deputy Commander will not be eligible for the 2 point bonus.

Qualifications are to be fired in the order listed below with first round down range at 0900 in an attempt to approximate early morning lighting conditions on first event.

All shooters are expected to help hang and clean up target material.

Qualifications are to be run as if a skirmish is being fired. Events should be fired at a reasonable pace with no “do-overs”. If a member has a bad event, he should move on to the next event just like in a skirmish. If the member chooses not to continue the round, he may try again with the beginning of the next round. In case of a mechanical malfunction which is readily repairable, the member may be permitted, at the discretion of the Qualification Officer of the Day, to make up the event which the malfunction caused him not to finish.

Spotting is allowed, calling hits or misses only. Locations of hits or misses are not to be called in an attempt to more closely approximate Skirmish conditions and discourage Kentucky Windage. All firearms are to be properly sighted in and will have triggers checked. WBR rule requires minimum 3 lb. 2 oz. trigger pull for shoulder fired arms.

Musket and Carbine Qualifications will be fired on Targets with brown background only.

Revolver and Henry Qualifications will be fired on black and white Targets as long as they last.

All scores will be recorded and reported to the Deputy Commander by 2100h on the Sunday prior to a skirmish to be considered for team placement for that skirmish. Please save and turn in event by event scores to the Deputy Commander either by email or hard copy at the next opportunity. The top three scores fired during 2009 with Musket and Carbine will be averaged to establish team placement effective after 2009 Chesapeake Regional. The forth highest score will be used as a tie breaker. Effective with the 2009 Fall Potomac Regional the top four scores fired at anytime during 2009 will be averaged to establish team placement with Musket and Carbine. At this time the fifth score will become the tie breaker. The top three scores with Revolver and Henry will be averaged to establish team placement during 2009. The fourth highest score will be used as a tie breaker. Teams will be established according to WBR By-Laws.
